Meet the Enroly team: From India to the UK, how Sanskriti went from international student to Product Manager at Enroly

Next up in our Meet the Enroly team series we have a small but meaningful good news story from the sector...

International students in the UK are navigating an increasingly complex landscape. With evolving visa rules and uncertainty around post-study opportunities, the path from graduation to employment is becoming harder to navigate.

While the challenges are real, so too are the success stories, reminders of the contribution international students make, and of what’s possible when opportunity, timing, and support come together.

Sanskriti Malik’s story is one such example. In 2022, she chose the UK for her master’s degree. By 2023, she had arrived to begin her studies. And today, we’re delighted to welcome her to the Enroly team as a Product Manager.

It’s a story of commitment, ambition, and finding the right opportunity at the right moment. While it’s just one journey, it reflects what many in the sector are striving for: a more supported, joined-up experience for international students, from arrival to employment, where and when possible.

A dream that started in Delhi

"Most of my life I've been in India," Sanskriti begins. Raised and educated in Delhi, she completed her undergrad at Delhi University before diving into India’s buzzing startup world. Four years of experience in the Indian EdTech sector gave her the professional grounding she needed - but there was still one thing on the top of her bucket list to tick off: a master's degree abroad.

The choice wasn’t easy. “I was very conflicted…whether to do an MBA from India or a Master's abroad.” But the UK stood out. One-year master’s programs, a globally connected city like London, and practical visa options made sense. "Living in a country abroad seems so dreamy," she says, laughing, "but it has its own challenges."

The Birmingham chapter

Eventually, the University of Birmingham became the launchpad for Sanskriti’s next chapter. “I did my own research…on subject ranking, career prospects, and price point.” MSc Management was the right fit - a course that let her combine her product background with a business analytics elective.|

Welcome to the UK: Fish, chips and friendly faces

Sanskriti had never visited the UK before. Her insights came from YouTube vlogs made by fellow students. "That sort of gave me insight…it calms you down because those people are going through the same process."

She chuckles at the British quirks she picked up on quickly: "They ask you how you're doing, but they don't really want to hear how you're doing!" But she found British people "witty, helpful and generous.” And the multiculturalism resonated: "I've made friends of different nationalities…if I'd done my Master's in India, I don't think that would have happened."

The job search: A reality check

Graduating didn’t bring instant success. She quickly learned the realities of the UK job market. "You're not just competing with fresh graduates… you’re up against people with years of experience.."

Armed with LinkedIn Premium and a strategy of applying within 24 hours of job posts, Sanskriti doubled down. “I mixed and matched a lot of strategies. I specifically tried to apply for jobs that were posted in the past 24 hours.” Slowly, the interviews started coming in.

Finding the right fit

Then came Enroly. “I had such a strong feeling that I really wanted to work for Enroly,” she remembers. “Enroly gave me insights into the recruitment process, so I always knew what was going on and where I stood.”

The interview process was refreshingly relevant. "They asked the right questions…not something unrelated to the job." It was clear this wasn’t just another application. It was a fit.

When the offer came in, she was overwhelmed. “I had tears in my eyes. I called my parents…it was very freeing, like a weight had been lifted and my hard work had paid off.”

A seat at the table

Now working as a Product Manager on the team, Sanskriti has thrown herself into learning the ins and outs of international admissions. “Every day I keep on finding new things…and that’s amazing,” she says.

Despite the challenges, she remains grounded in gratitude. "I never complain. I know how hard it was to get here. People are out there, still hoping to start working."

More than just a job

Sanskriti’s story isn’t just about securing a role. It’s a reminder of the resilience, skills, and energy that international students bring to the UK, and why it matters that we continue to support them beyond the classroom where possible.

As she puts it: "That sense of achievement…you plan, you envision something for yourself, and you do it. It's unmatched."

We’re proud to have Sanskriti as part of the Enroly team, and even more proud to share her story as a small but hopeful signal of what’s still possible.
